My little rockstar.....

Monday Morning Blogging...

I will probably do several posts today, if I have a chance. It seems like I don't have any blogging time these days. The weather has warmed up a bit and I am back to sleeping as much as possible. Last week went okay. Jake was in Texas and I was in Tennessee for part of the week. We didn't see each other for six days. I think it was too long. But, I guess I won't complain when he gets his pay check will I????

Remember the house I told you about? Well, I think I have let that dream go. We called about the gas bill and last Feb., when no one was living there, it was $580! Yikes. I guess there could have been a lot of factors and maybe we could have lowered it but man.....that is a lot of money just for heat. So, we are looking, although I don't think we are going to be ready to actually buy for another 6 months. In July we are going on a month to month lease so we won't be stuck for another year.

Saturday we went to a wedding. It was a very sweet ceremony. It was not just the straight forward traditional stuff. It was real. I loved that about it. The minister was funny. He added his own humor. The ring bearer dropped the ring. We all heard: ting....ting...ting..ting.ting. followed by gasps of air. It was fine. The bride cried and no one could find a tissue for her. The minister also gave some marital advice. It was good. And in his prayer he not only prayed for the couple but for all the other married couples sitting in the audience and asked them to revisit their own vows. It was nice. The food was great. I was thoroughly stuffed by time we left. There were a few people from the old church who were there that didn't even know I was pregnant until they saw me. The one lady came over and said her husband said, "I think Delilah might be pregnant." She looked at me and said..."Uh...you think????" Sarcastically, of course because I looked like I smuggled a beach ball in under my fitted black dress. My belly was out there and really there wasn't any question.

Well, have a great day.

Indy...All Grown Up (well, kinda)

Indy is my neice (Heather's daughter). She is exactly 6 days older than Jude, which is 4 1/2. She has never had her hair cut in the back (other than a little trim here and there). Last week she decided she wanted to cut her hair. While we were driving back from dropping off my kids last week she told me she wanted me to stop at the first hair place I saw so she could get her hair cut. Then she bugged me about 10 times asking me if I saw one yet. In the mean time she looked at a hairstyle magazine my sister bought. It was funny. Either way, she did get her hair cut and here are the pics. She donated her hair to be made into a wig. If you ask she says she gave her hair to another little girl that didn't have any. BTW...her haircut was free since she donated her hair. My sister said when she went to bed that night she asked if her hair was going to grow back in the morning. Ha ha. Heather assured her it wouldn't and she said "good".

My Week....Reviewed

Okay this is what I have been doing this week....

Monday - Went to a Relay for Life fundraiser Bingo/Auction thingy. It was fun but very crowded. I sold my first piece of artwork. Justiene bought it. Wasn't that nice of her. Oh, earlier in the day on Monday I got a call from Jake at like 8:30 A.M. He had a Dr.'s appointment at 9:30 A.M. I had asked him the week before if he wanted me to go with him (he had some blood work done and some levels were "elevated") but he said no. But...when Monday morning came around he was sitting at work and I think the guys were like "why isn't your wife going?". So, he called me at 8:30 to say he wanted me there. Mind you...when he called I wasn't showered or dressed, the kids were still in their pj's and I was elbow deep in raisin bread! Yikes. Somehow I made it there just in time for the appointment (wearing a baseball hat). Turns out his blood work was fine. The doc said he needs to exercise and get his "good" cholesterol up. No biggie. Pretty much it was a follow up he was supposed to do at this time last year after his little hospital stay.

Tuesday - Did piles and piles of laundry. Seriously, I think I did 12 loads. It was a busy day. I also packed a suitcase for the kids to go to Tennessee for a few days!!!!!

Wednesday - Drove (with my sister) to Kentucky and met my parents to give them the kids. It wasn't a bad car drive at all. The kids were good and the traffic was fine. Went to pottery when I got home. Did a little celebration dance when Sanjaya was kicked of American Idol.

Thursday - You would think I would have taken a bubble bath and relaxed or even tried to catch up on my cleaning or something. I didn't. I spent the whole day feeling crappy and extremely hormonal. I didn't really get much done. I did go to Jo Ann etc and bought some fabric to make a few slings - which are going to be so very cute. I am going to use one for a Relay for Life raffle (wanna buy a ticket????).

Friday - Oh...that is today. I spent hours (literally) shampooing every inch of carpet or rug in the is house. Everything looks so nice and smells so fresh! After I got that done Jake and I went and looked at a house. I reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyy want to buy this house but...it might not work out for us right now. Our credit looked so good until November when I was laid off/"let go" from my job. We are finally back on track but our credit took a hit. Up until that time we hadn't even paid things late before so it was a pretty big deal. We weren't planning to buy a house right now because of the whole credit thing but now we found this house. And I love it. I want it. You have no idea. Huge yard...a zillion windows....a fireplace....big kitchen.....a wrap around porch. It is beautiful. We are trying to work out some type of deal. Right now we are getting ready to go shopping. Jake doesn't know it yet but we are going to be shopping for rugs (the house has all hardwood floors!!!). ha ha ha. I guess that would be rushing things a bit. I LOVE this house. The porch is big enough to have a party on it. Seriously. And there are like 3 living rooms, walk in closets, did I mention the windows???? I could go on and on...oh wait I already did that. Okay, enough about the house. If it is meant to be it will happen. If not, I will accept it.

So, that is my week in a nutshell. I am going to Tennessee next week. Jake will be in in Texas for work. I am distraught over the whole thing but I guess I'll leave that for another blog post. The weather is finally starting to warm up again. Thank God. I need the sunshine.

Well, have a great day and week-end.

So, I Have A Story For You....

You may have noticed that I haven't been blogging that much lately. You know I am always complaining about being busy. The funny thing is, I don't feel like I get any of the stuff I want to do done. My days are spent cleaning a house that NEVER looks clean, folding the same blankets 12 times a day, doing laundry, cooking and chasing kids. Doesn't sound that fun does it? Well, it isn't that bad. Anyhoo....here is the real reason I haven't been blogging. My schedule has been messed up. Here is why..... Jake started working out in the mornings. That in itself doesn't really effect me too much. He gets up at 5:30ish (A.M.) and goes to the gym. He works out for 45 minutes or so and then comes come to take a shower. He has been meeting some guys from work at the gym to work out with. After a few days of this Jake comes home and he says, "Do you know what so-n-so (a workout buddy's wife) does for so-n-so (the workout guy)? At this point I am waiting just to hear just how wonderful this other man's wife is....and my husband ADDS this: I think it is sooo sweet!" What???? Jake has really NEVER called anything sweet for as long as I've know him! So I am continue to wait to hear what he has to say for himself. He goes on and tells me that his friend's wife gets out of bed and makes him a breakfast while he is at the gym. So when he gets home he can eat her wonderful breakfast!!! Can you believe it? I am outraged. He was trying to manipulate ME. I keep hearing over and over...."I think it is sweet". Now what can I do? I've made him breakfast the last two mornings. He still hasn't told me I am sweet but oh well. Either way, I used to blog in the mornings. That has always been my time to get up and do my thing. Jake has always liked cereal. He eats a lot of it. And he is worried about his health (weight, cholesterol, etc....) and most breakfast food is so unhealthy (pancakes!!! yikes, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, butter.....my heart is hurting just thinking about it). I thought I was doing him a favor by NOT making him breakfast. I thought that was sweet of me. But apparently I was wrong. So, that is my story. If I don't blog enough blame that other guys wife for being so sweet.

BTW....just a little disclaimer - I happen to like the other guy's wife and she is very nice and probably very sweet (I don't know her that well). So, no harm is meant towards her by this blog entry.

Thursday Thirteen #19 - Reasons I am posting on Sunday!!!!

I am a little behind this week so I am giving you 13 reasons I am late at posting my Thursday Thirteen.

1. After spending a week getting our summer clothes out and storing our winter clothes I had to get the winter clothes back out.

2. I've been busy explaining to our children that the seasons are really Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter.....not Spring, Winter, Spring, Winter.

3. I had to mow the lawn & shovel snow this week (actually Jake did it).

4. My mom came to visit.

5. Jake got his bonus so I have been shopping.

6. I've been getting ready for the Relay for Life Auction on the 16th. Anyone want to donate something?

7. I've been eating Marshmallow Peeps.

8. Jake has been off since Wednesday - I am happy to have him home but it throws the routine off.

9. I've been napping every day.

10. I spent the better part of one day cleaning out the van...shampooing the carpets and everything. I thought it was appropriate since it was 80 and we wouldn't be tracking snow in it anymore.

11. I've been hunting for a pair of shoes that aren't open toed to go with my "easter outfit".

12. We've been coloring Easter Eggs!!! (pics will come later).

13. I've been watching the weather channel. ARrrggHH.

Wordless Wednesday....I turned my back!!!

I am just busy....

I know I am always complaining about time. I need more of it. Yesterday I started the laundry and cleaned out some stuff in the basement. I have decided that I am going to tackle all these craft projects I have. I was talking to a friend last week and she was telling me about this guy she used to date and how his mother had craft stuff piled to the ceiling....in multiple rooms. Yikes. I don't want to be like that but I feel like I am well on my way. I love to scrapbook and make cards but I feel limited with my space here. We used to live in a house where I could leave all the stuff out and go back to work on in for a few minutes when I could get away but now....if I did that Elise would be making her own art out of my acid free paper and stuff. So, my scrapbooking is really behind. Then there is the sewing. Same dilemma really - my sewing machine is sitting out right now but it is taking up my folding table. I have been working on tiles for my mosaic table I am going to make this summer. It is more of an outside project. I made some tiles in pottery class and they turned out really cool. I need to make many more. I think I am going to go with a blue/green theme for the table. Yesterday I started working on these little bird bath things I saw at a craft show last year. I ran out and bought the stuff to make two (one for my mom & one for Linda) but never got around to it. As I was "designing" them I decided I didn't like them. Luckily, I can use the supplies for something else. Last month I went to this jewelry making thing with the ladies from my church. It was fun. Then I went to a jewelry party with my sister. I saw a ton of stuff I liked and thought....I can make that. So I bought a few things and have been making some stuff. I used to make necklaces and bracelets a lot when I was younger but had really gotten away from doing it. I have too many hobbies. I like them all. I think I like pottery the best but I can only afford to do that once a week. Maybe someday I can have my own "space" at home. I went to this little shop in Tennessee, while visiting my folks. This lady and her sister make just about everything in the store...quilts, painted stuff, wood things, pottery, candles, etc..... I want to have a store like that. How cool.... I could create and make some money. I doubt it would be very popular in this part of Ohio, though. I'd have to move someplace more touristy. For now, I will have to settle with just having a garage sale and getting rid of some of my junk. Until then I guess I will just keep blogging about it.
