This Storm....

Yesterday at church the Pastor's wife sang a song called, "Praise you in this storm". It is such a beautiful song. I seriously almost started crying while she was singing. The words talk about how God doesn't always step in and take our pain away but He is always there to walk with us and help us get through it. We've all read the poem "Footprints". It is similar. As she sang I just sat there and thought about some of the stuff I have gone through. I think everyone in the room was doing the same thing. Then I started thinking about other people and the stuff they go through. My problems seemed small. Isn't it amazing how perspective can do that for you? It puts you right in your place. Either way, here is the song.....

Praise You in This Storm

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again,
I say “Amen,” and it’s still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear
You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth
I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

So, to tell you about some of my own stormy weather....

Wow!!

You were meant to be my friend. Last night I was talking to my husband and for the life of me I could not remember the title of that song because why we were singing my mind wondered to some of my life storms, some of yours, and other people around me. You are right other peoples problems put your life into perspective and sometimes I think I take so much for granted and complain about the little things, I refuse to look at the big picture I have been blessed with so much that I don't deserve.

Oh my God, congrats on the baby. I will have to disagree with the Amy name I think Shawna is much more appropriate. Shawn works for a boy also, see very versatile. This is good news, everything will fall into place and you will not remember ever feeling this way.
Love you
Shawna

Congratulations to you and me also, I'm going to be a GREAT aunt...hahaha Don't just look for one name, this time you are going to need TWO! I know a real pretty name that starts with D, and a strong male name JACKSON!! Don't laugh, I know you aren't going to name them that, but Brooklyn is really pretty.

Babies are so precious, I can't wait to hold them........can't you rush it a little and have them on June 1? You are such a good mother, and I'm so proud of you for staying home and rearing them yourself. I could write a long posts about how the family has broken down since mothers stopped taking care of their own children, however, that would probably start a war, so I'll leave it at that.
Love you,
Aunt D.
